1. Scope
1.1
This Standard applies to moulded case switches (hereinafter referred to, for convenience, as switches) rated at 6000 A or less and at 600 V or less that are assembled as an integral unit in a supporting and enclosing housing of moulded insulating material.
1.2
This Standard applies to moulded case switches intended for installation in overall enclosures or as components of other equipment intended for use in accordance with the Rules of the Canadian Electrical Code, Part I.
1.3
Clause 8 of this Standard covers accessories that may be installed on moulded case switches, either in the factory or in th e field, including the following: (a) electrical operator; (b) over-voltage trip device; (c) under-voltage trip device; (d) auxiliary switch; and (e) shunt-trip device.
